It&rsquo;s a whole week of good news for Great British Bake Off fans. First we heard that <a href="https://www.asda.com/good-living/article/nadiya-hussain-junior-bake-off" target="_blank">Nadiya Hussain is set to return to GBBO</a> as a judge on the new series of Junior Bake off, and now Dr Tamal Ray, 2015&rsquo;s runner-up, has confirmed that he&rsquo;ll be fronting a brand new health show.That's all on top of the fact that GBBO 2016 is due to return to BBC One on 24 August!Set to air on Channel 4, Tamal has filmed the pilot episode for Be Your Own Doctor, which Channel 4 bosses say could be turned into a regular series if it&rsquo;s successful.Hosting the show alongside TV presenter Kate Quilton, Tamal will call upon his medical training and experience as a junior doctor to help viewers make sense of today&rsquo;s health-obsessed world.The show is said to explore the ways in which we can all stay well and avoid illness, without resorting to Googling symptoms only to end up convinced we&rsquo;re carrying some awful disease!As the official statement puts it, Dr Tamal will help us, ‘navigate a health-mad world where we are overloaded with information.&rsquo;Though he lost out in the final to GBBO champion Nadiya, Tamal won over fans with his creative bakes and warm personality, fast becoming a favourite among viewers. Will anyone ever forget his three-tier sticky toffee fruit cake decorated with a scene from an abandoned Chinese fishing village?But while he may not be baking during the new show, we still can&rsquo;t wait to see Tamal back on our screens.Following his stint on GBBO last year, Tamal returned to work as a junior doctor, training as an anesthetist in Manchester.
