You can now drop off everything from cardboard to clothing to be recycled in-store

<p>23 - 29 September marks <em>National Recycle Week</em>.</p><p>Did you know that you can now drop off a variety of old items in-store to be recycled? Bring along waste paper, glass, mixed plastics, batteries and old clothes when you come to do your next shop to make sure that they're re-used and recycled responsibly.</p><h2>Paper and glass</h2><p>Bring along any unwanted glass or paper to your local store to see it recycled into something new! Depending on your local council, you might find that your local bin collection doesn't cover some bits - so this is ideal for clearing out all of the bits and bobs your local council's recycling scheme doesn't cover. If you're unsure what's included in your own council's scheme, <a href="http://www.recyclenow.com/local-recycling" target="_blank">click here to find out.</a></p><p>Make sure to rinse out and dry any old food packaging and glass before bringing it along. At most of our bottle banks, you'll find that the bins are labelled specifically for clear, green and brown glass - so get sorting!</p><p>Have you got lots of old plastic bottles hanging around? So if you've been putting off decluttering your wardrobe, now's the time to do it - and donate to a good cause while you do it.</p><p>If you've got any men's, women's or children's clothing, plus underwear, shoes and accessories, make sure they're clean then pop them in a bag and bring them along to your local Asda and see if you can donate them today.</p><p>Make sure to keep an eye out for our pink Tickled Pink bins, of which 60% of all proceeds are split between the breast cancer charities Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="asda_recycles_bottle_bank_supermarket__square" class="ci-image ci-square" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/asda_recycles_bottle_bank_supermarket__square_GL?scl=1"></p><h2>Plastic Bags</h2><p>You can recycle any old plastic bags in-store using the specified bins. That way, you don't have to take them home and fill your cupboards with them! And as well as plastic bags and empty bin liners, you can now recycle certain magazine wraps and food packaging alongside your old plastic bags!
