But if you&rsquo;re going very close to the speed of light - let&rsquo;s say 99.99999% of the speed of light - distances shrink in that case by a factor of 7,000."7,000 miles is one mile when you&rsquo;re travelling close to the speed of light."Well, there you have it! It's certainly not the easiest explanation but with all that science speak, you'll hopefully convince the kids that Santa is super speedy and that it is possible to travel around the world in one night after all.
