<p>Being a new parent is hard work! You can read all the baby books in the world and chat to hundreds of other parents, but the truth is that nothing will truly fully prepare you for what it&rsquo;s like to care for a baby. Which means that as a new parent, you&rsquo;re going to make mistakes. </p><p>Making mistakes doesn&rsquo;t make you a bad parent - you&rsquo;ve never done this before, remember? But by knowing these 10 common mistakes that new parents typically make, you can at least goof-proof yourself just a little. </p><p>From forgetting to bring a change of clothing to buying WAY too many newborn diapers, the good news is that when you've made these silly mistakes once, you won't make them again! Ignoring the 'splash zone'</h2><p>You&rsquo;re changing your baby&rsquo;s diaper and suddenly there&rsquo;s a stream of wee hitting your face. And yes, this can also happen with baby girls. Best to put a wipe over the area until you're done! </p><h2>3. Not accepting help</h2><p>Letting others help you isn&rsquo;t a sign of weakness! Remember that you can&rsquo;t do everything by yourself. And don&rsquo;t be afraid to ask for help when you need it - you&rsquo;re a parent, not super human.  </p><h2>4. Poke your baby while she's sleeping to make sure that she&rsquo;s still breathing</h2><p>Oh phew, she IS breathing. And now she&rsquo;s awake. And screaming her head off. Clipping your baby&rsquo;s finger when trying to cut their nails</h2><p>Don&rsquo;t worry, it happens. And no, it doesn&rsquo;t mean that you&rsquo;re the worst parent in the world!
