The athletes, entertainers and designers who were recognised this year

Out of the 1,197 people who have been recognised this year, an impressive 74% of awards will go to people who have undertaken outstanding work in their local community.</p><p>This includes a BEM for Heather Edwards for services to people with dementia and an MBE for Susan Green who has volunteered with the Samaritans for over 30 years. And after holding a number of senior posts in the Scout Association, Maurice Brunton receives an MBE at the age of 92.
