Gear yourself up for the UK's biggest bike race 

From the 2nd-5th May, one of the biggest events in the cycling calendar is taking place in England&rsquo;s largest county. The <a href="https://letour.yorkshire.com/" target="_blank">Tour de Yorkshire</a> is back, and thousands of people will be arriving in Yorkshire in the hope of getting a glimpse of the riders and cheering on some big names.The <a href="https://letour.yorkshire.com/the-race/" target="_blank">Asda Tour de Yorkshire Women&rsquo;s Race</a> meanwhile, is taking place between 3-4 May (allowing more people to take part, since it falls on weekend).As we gear up to the event, we have put together a few facts to get you pumped...<img alt="sw314_tourdeyorkshire__square" class="ci-image ci-square" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/sw314_tourdeyorkshire__square_GL?scl=1"><h2>Did you know...</h2>1. The Tour de Yorkshire is a relatively new event, but since its launch in 2015, it has grown to become one of the world&rsquo;s best-supported cycling races. 2. The race will be broadcast live on tv, in the UK and worldwide. 3. The men's course will cover 617.5KM (384 miles) over four stages (one stage each day), while the women's course will cover 264KM (164 miles) over two stages (again, one stage each day). <img alt="tour-de-yorkshier-3__square" class="ci-image ci-square" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/tour-de-yorkshier-3__square_GL?scl=1">4. The route changes every year, enabling participants to explore different parts of Yorkshire. 5. The average number of calories burnt per day per rider per day is 6,000. That means you&rsquo;d need to eat around three times the usual recommended daily allowance (RDA) to fuel your hard work, or nearly 12 Big Macs! 8. The fourth and final stage of this year&rsquo;s men&rsquo;s race (from Halifax to Leeds) has been nicknamed "The Yorkshire Terrier" as it&rsquo;s the hardest stage of the race, made up of 189.5km of incessant pedalling.Feeling inspired to get your children involved in cycling?
