Ingredients

225g self-raising flour

110g Asda Best for Baking Cakes Spread

75g mixed dried fruit

50g caster sugar

1 large egg, beaten

2tbsp semi-skimmed milk

1tbsp Demerara sugar

Method

1
Preheat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2
Sieve the flour into a large bowl and, using your hands, rub in the spread until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
3
Add the dried fruit and caster sugar and stir to combine. Gradually stir in the beaten egg.
4
Put 15 heaps of the mixture onto the baking tray, evenly spaced out – no need to flatten! Brush with the milk and sprinkle with the Demerara sugar.
5
Bake for 10-15 mins until golden brown. Leave to cool on the tray then serve as a teatime treat.
