Ingredients

260g ASDA Just Essentials White Fish Fillets

400g ASDA Just Essentials White Potatoes, Peeled & Quartered

320g ASDA Just Essentials Carrots, Peeled and Sliced

170g ASDA Just Essential Brown Onions, Diced

2 Tbsp ASDA Just Essentials Plain Flour

500ml ASDA Just Essentials Long Life Milk

ASDA Fragrant & Bold Garlic 45mm+

Method

1
Make mashed potatoes using the peeled and quartered potatoes (I generally steam my potatoes).
2
In a saucepan over a medium heat, gently poach the fish fillets in the milk, strain the milk and set aside for the sauce.
3
Flake the poached fish into an oven proof dish.
4
In a frying pan over a high heat, sauté the onions, garlic and diced carrots until soft and fragrant, then place over the flaked fish.
5
In the saucepan now, add 2 tablespoons of oil and 2 tablespoons of plain flour, stir well to make a roux like paste.
6
Allow the roux to cook out for 3 minutes before gently adding in the poaching milk, whisking vigorously as you go.
7
Allow the white sauce to cook for a further 5 - 7 minutes, seasoning well with salt and pepper (if the sauce is to thick, and splash more milk to thin it down).
8
In the oven proof dish with the flaked fish, sautéed vegetables pour over seasoned white sauce, ensuring the fish stays in large chunks.
9
Proceed to top the pie with mash, using the back of a fork to rough up the mash. bake at 170? for 20-25 minutes.
