Ingredients

35g butter

2 eggs

400ml semi-skimmed milk

1tsp ground cinnamon

140g light muscovado sugar

6-pack Asda Classic Waffles, torn into bite-sized chunks

50g Asda Dates, finely chopped

150ml single cream

½tbsp treacle

Method

1
Preheat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Grease an ovenproof dish with 10g of the butter.
2
Whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon and 40g of the sugar.
3
Put the waffles in the dish. Scatter over the dates. Pour over the milk mixture and leave to soak for 20 mins. Bake for 40-45 mins until risen and golden.
4
Meanwhile, heat the rest of the butter and sugar with the cream in a pan on low until the sugar dissolves. Add the treacle, increase the heat and simmer for 2-3 mins until the mixture turns a deep caramel colour.
5
Pour the hot caramel over the cooked pudding and return to the oven for 10 mins before serving.
