With our easy-to-cheat treats, it really couldn’t be simpler!

<p>If ever we needed another excuse to spoil our mums, Sunday 14th March 2021 marks Mother's Day.</p><p>It's the one day of the year that is specifically dedicated to showing our mum just how much she means to us, and if you ask us there really is no better way to show our gratitude than by whipping up a high tea fit for a queen.</p><p>There's no denying that sugary sweets and chocolate treats are always a firm favourite, especially if they're handmade.</p><p>So, to help say 'thank you' to your mum for going above and beyond in all she does, we've put together a cheat's high tea with easy-to-assemble baby banoffee pies, 'homemade' dainty finger éclairs and adorable butterfly cakes. </p><p>Using pre-made products, all you'll need to do is add an extra dusting of love! So gather the kids and get them to help you whip up some brilliant creations...</p><h2>Butterfly cakes</h2><p><img alt="butterfly_cakes__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/butterfly_cakes__hero_GL?scl=1"></p><p>Use a sharp knife to cut a hole in the centre of a <a href="http://groceries.asda.com/product/cupcakes-muffins-fairy-cakes/asda-plain-fairy-cakes/82066053" target="_blank">plain fairy cake</a>.  Trim the offcuts so they are flat, then cut in half. Fill the hole with <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/jams-preserves/asda-strawberry-jam/32928" target="_blank">strawberry jam</a>, followed by <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/icings-frostings-marzipans/asda-vanilla-flavour-frosting/1000004538025" target="_blank">vanilla frosting</a>.  Position the cake offcuts on top of the frosting so they resemble butterfly wings. Dust with <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/icing-sugar/silver-spoon-icing-sugar/910002231858" target="_blank">icing sugar</a>.  </p><h2>Beefy Yorkshire pud bites with a spicy kick</h2><p><img alt="tea__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/tea__hero_GL?scl=1"></p><p>Cook <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/yorkshire-puddings/aunt-bessies-30-mini-yorkshire-puddings/910002366495" target="_blank">Aunt Bessie&rsquo;s Mini Yorkshires</a> according to instructions on the pack. Mix a little <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/condiments/asda-horseradish-sauce/13533238" target="_blank">horseradish sauce</a> and <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/creme-fraiche/asda-50-less-fat-creme-fraiche/79117626" target="_blank">crème fraîche</a> together then spoon into the centre of the puddings. Top with thin slices of <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/beef-slices/asda-extra-special-roast-topside-of-beef/910002519864" target="_blank">cooked roast beef</a> and garnish with <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/herbs/asda-growers-selection-thyme/910001988107" target="_blank">thyme leaves</a>, <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/salad-bags/asda-growers-selection-strong-wild-rocket/81927181" target="_blank">rocket</a> and a sprinkling of <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/spices/asda-smoked-paprika/57704799" target="_blank">smoked paprika</a>.</p><h2>Baby banoffee pies</h2><p><img alt="tea__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/tea__hero_GL?scl=1"></p><p>Spoon <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/dessert-sauces-toppings-mixes/asda-extra-special-salted-caramel-sauce/910001385560" target="_blank">Extra Special Salted Caramel Sauce</a> on top of <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/mini-bites/asda-bakers-selection-shortbread-bites/910000265790" target="_blank">Baker&rsquo;s Selection Shortbread Bites</a>. Arrange <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/bananas/asda-bananas/910000520599" target="_blank">banana</a> slices and <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/single-double-whipping/asda-extra-thick-fresh-double-cream/48639910" target="_blank">extra thick double cream</a> on the caramel and sprinkle with <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/search/chocolate" target="_blank">grated chocolate</a>.</p><h2>Dainty lady finger éclairs</h2><p><img alt="dainty_lady_finger_eclairs__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/dainty_lady_finger_eclairs__hero_GL?scl=1"></p><p>Whip a good dollop of <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/single-double-whipping/yeo-valley-double-cream/910002464142" target="_blank">double cream</a> until thick. Add a little <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/chocolate-rice-custard-pots/asda-custard/910002606361" target="_blank">custard</a> and fold in to combine. Spoon the mixture down the length of the flat side of one <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/sponge-pudding/asda-sponge-fingers/34721" target="_blank">Asda Sponge Finger</a>. Dip a warmed butter knife in <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/chocolate-sweet-spreads/asda-smartprice-chocolate-hazelnut-spread/31122475" target="_blank">chocolate hazelnut spread</a> (from a jar), spread on the rounded side of another sponge finger, then sandwich on top of the cream-layered one to make a mini éclair. Finish with a sprinkling of <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/nuts-seeds/asda-good-balanced-chopped-hazelnuts/910001926860" target="_blank">chopped hazelnuts</a>.</p><h2>Lemon mascarpone cookie squashers</h2><p><img alt="high_tea-2__hero" class="ci-image ci-hero" src="https://ui3.assets-asda.com/dm/high_tea-2__hero_GL?scl=1"></p><p>Mix a little <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/jams-preserves/asda-lemon-curd/33519" target="_blank">lemon curd</a> into <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/mozzarella-mascarpone/asda-mascarpone-cheese/910001327509" target="_blank">mascarpone</a>. Spread over the flat side of a <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/muffins-donuts-cookies/asda-bakers-selection-white-chocolate-cookies/22251" target="_blank">Baker&rsquo;s Selection White Chocolate Cookie</a> and sandwich with another cookie. Repeat with the rest of the cookies. Mix <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/icing-sugar/silver-spoon-icing-sugar/910002231858" target="_blank">icing sugar</a> with a splash of <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/cooking-ingredients/ktc-lemon-juice/31972694" target="_blank">lemon juice </a>until it reaches a pouring consistency.
