Ice cream is one of those things that seems to go with every dessert.

Maybe it’s an apple crumble that satisfies your taste buds or a chocolate melt-in-the-mouth pudding that's your weakness, but whatever it may be, the sugary puddings wouldn’t be complete without a scoopful of ice cream.

And according to ice cream manufacturer Ben and Jerry 's, the flavour you chose to scoop alongside your dessert or eat alone says a lot about you.

They said: “Busy flavours with a boatload of chunks and swirls? You’re probably a go-getter with a packed schedule.

“Decadent chocolates and thick caramels? You love the best of the best, no matter what.”

So let’s look back on the year that was, raise our pints, and say 'cheers' to the top 10 Ben & Jerry’s flavours of 2016.

Up from last year’s number 8 spot, this caramel, chocolate ice cream with chocolate cookie swirls, gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter cookie dough is hitting the spot for many ice cream lovers.
