<p>According to <a href="http://www.wsta.co.uk/press/811-2016-the-year-of-gin" target="_blank">new figures</a> released by the Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA), we&rsquo;ve been drinking record amounts of gin in 2016. </p><p>Approximately 40 million bottles of the juniper-based spirit were sold over the past 12 months, which is enough to make a staggering 1.12 billion gin and tonics.
