<p>Sourdough bread might seem like a recent addition to Britain’s menu, but did you know that one of the first recognised sourdough breads dates all the way back to 3700BCE? Today, the flavours of sourdough bread are loved far and wide.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Using just 3 ingredients – flour, salt and water – it might seem easy to make. But baking sourdough bread can take a fair bit of practice to get right. That’s why we’ve made our <a href="https://groceries.asda.com/product/extra-special-bread/asda-extra-special-white-sourdough/1000357060653?utm_source=referral&utm_medium=article-sourdough-september&utm_campaign=good-living" target="_self">Extra Special Sourdough</a>  – so you don’t have to!&nbsp;</p>
<p>We use a 10-year-old wild yeast starter with Cotswold flour, and ferment our dough for 10 hours, prove it for 1 hour and then hand cut it before baking on a stone bed oven.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
