We’ve won the Grocer 33 Price Award! We beat Tesco (with Clubcard), Sainsbury’s (with Nectar), Morrisons (with More) and Waitrose by providing the cheapest prices most frequently for a shop based on a weekly survey of 33 everyday items. Our low prices are for everyone, not just for members.
The Grocer 33 Price Award 2025. The Grocer 33 pricing survey compares 33 randomly selected products each week from Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose. Asda provided the cheapest price in 22 of the 49 weeks that Grocer ran the price comparison survey. Survey from July 2024 - June 2025.
The Grocer 33 is an independent tool measuring supermarket pricing, in-store and online customer service, and supply chain effectiveness across the major players in grocery retail. The unique combination of a weekly and constantly changing price comparison survey with a nationwide mystery shopping survey provides store managers, supermarket head offices, and suppliers with invaluable insights into retail execution as well as pricing and promotional trends across Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Waitrose, while regular guest retailer appearances from Aldi, Amazon, Iceland, Lidl, Marks & Spencer and Ocado delivers additional capability and comparative tests. The data we collect not only calculates the grocer offering the cheapest prices and the best service and availability each week; it is also part of an annual competition. At the end of the 49-week period in which the surveys are conducted we award three Grocer Gold Awards based on totting up the respective scores over the course of the year, while the winners of the store of the week are also put forward for the annual Store Manager of the Year competition.
