Ingredients

1 onion, finely sliced

1tbsp olive oil

2tsp fresh thyme leaves

1 large egg, beaten

75ml double cream

40g Asda Extra Mature British Cheddar, grated

375g pack Chosen by you Ready Rolled Shortcrust Pastry

Method

Preheat the oven to 200C/ 180C Fan/Gas 6. Cook the onion in the oil in a nonstick pan for 10 mins. Stir in the thyme, then leave to cool.

Whisk the egg and cream together, season with a grind of black pepper and set aside.

Roll out the pastry to make it slightly thinner. Cut into 12 circles with a 7cm cutter. Put in a 12-holed muffin tin.

Add the onion and cheese to the pastry cases and pour over the egg mixture. Bake for 12 mins until the filling has just set.
