Customers Colleague of the Year
Ellen has been nominated for being an incredible person who quietly supports so many in our community, offering help with health, wellbeing, and emotional support. I first met her while searching for food, and she kindly took me to the food bank and connected me with support networks that changed my life. I’ll always be grateful. Others in the groups she introduced me to speak just as highly of her. Even my autistic son, who rarely talks to anyone, feels comfortable speaking with Ellen. Her kindness, compassion, and quiet dedication make a real difference. Ellen truly is a diamond.
Vardanand has been nominated for showing incredible kindness during a very difficult moment. I had just left the hospital after a serious accident and, while shopping, realised I’d forgotten my wallet. I was panicking, overwhelmed, and unsure what to do. That’s when Vardanand, who had just finished his shift, stepped in. He calmly reassured me and offered to pay for my shopping. Though I was embarrassed, he insisted, saying it could happen to anyone. When I later tried to repay him, he kindly refused, calling it his “good deed for the day.” His compassion and quick thinking made a huge difference. Vardanand is a true credit to Asda.

By taking part in this promotion all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.
The Proud to be Asda Awards is open to all Asda Stores Limited, Asda express LTD and Leon Restaurants LTD colleagues (whether in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland).
To nominate a colleague, you will need to access the URL www.asda.com/proud-to-be-asda-awards which will direct you to a form that you will need to complete. The information that you will need to include on the form is:
Your full name;
Your work Email address;
Your Asda Colleague Number;
The full name of the colleague that you are nominating;
Where the nominated colleague works;
The Job role of the nominated colleague;
Information that you wish to submit to accompany your nomination, such as the reason why the nominated colleague should be selected to win a prize ; and
Which Asda value/values the nominee has met in their role.
Nominations not received, incomplete, illegible, or delayed will not be accepted.

Nominations close 23:59 on the 9th June 2025
All nominations will be initially shortlisted using the specific criteria set out on the nomination page of the Asda website (www.asda.com/proud-to-be-asda-awards).
The shortlisted nominees will be validated to ensure that they work for a relevant organisation and that there is no valid reason why they cannot be put forward to win a prize; a list of these nominees will then be used by the Proud to Be Asda Awards Panel (which will be made up of colleagues and leaders across the business) to select a further, final, shortlist for voting for each award.
The final shortlist for each award, along with a description of the nomination, will then be put forward to a colleague vote. The nominee with the most votes in each award category will be selected as the winner. This will be revealed at an award ceremony which is planned for the September 2025.

Voting close 23:59 on the 4th September 2025
In the event of a tie in an award category, the relevant Panel member(s) will decide who the winner is to be.
Those nominees on the final shortlist will be asked to attend a celebration event in September 2025.Asda Stores Limited, ASDA Express LTD or Leon Restaurants LTD (as appropriate) will cover any reasonable travel expenses (in accordance with the Asda Expenses Policy) if this is a physical, in person, event.
The Proud to be Asda winners will be notified at the celebration event. At the celebration event one of the winners of the individual categories will then be revealed as the Overall Colleague of the Year (decided by the Executive Chairman).
The winning colleague for each of the awards will receive Asda Star Points to be redeemed on the Asda benefits and recognition site (https://recognition.asdastars.com/). Any terms and conditions applicable to claiming Asda Star Point shall apply. Should a prize winner not have access to the recognition site and, as such, be unable to claim Asda Star Points, they will be awarded a prize with an equivalent value instead.
All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any cash alternative whether in whole or in part. The decisions of the Promoter are final in relation to the promotion.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to replace entire prizes or prize components with prizes of equal or greater value.
The prize winner(s) may be asked to participate in and give their consent to related publicity including their names and photographs being used for promotional purposes and/or reasonable requests to take part in the Promoter’s publicity.
All personal data used as part of the promotion will be used by the Data Controller only for the purposes of the promotion, including contacting nominators to ask for further information, deciding and making the awards.
