Ingredients

100g Asda White Chocolate Chunks

150g Asda Dark Chocolate (60% cocoa solids), broken into squares

50g Asda Pecan Nuts

150g plain flour

1⁄2 level tsp baking powder

100g butter (at room temperature)

150g caster sugar

1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract

1 large free-range egg

Asda White Piping Icing

Method

1
Put the chocolate chunks in the fridge. Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
2
Microwave the chocolate in a microwavable bowl on defrost for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until melted. Leave until cold but still fluid.
3
Break the pecans into small pieces. Sift the flour and baking powder together. With a wooden spoon, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy.
4
Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Add the egg and beat in.
5
Stir in the dark chocolate and flour, and add the nuts and chocolate chunks.
6
Put heaped tablespoons of the mixture on the baking trays, leaving a gap between each, and flatten with the back of a spoon. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
7
Leave for about 10 minutes so the cookies are still warm but cool enough to handle. Make a hole in each with an apple corer. Leave to cool completely.
8
Ice ‘DAD’ on each cookie with the piping and thread a ribbon through the holes.
