Ingredients

50g Asda hazelnuts

800g plums

3 tbsp demerara sugar

½ tsp ground cinnamon

75g Asda butter, chilled

150g Asda plain flour

75g caster sugar

Method

1
Pre-heat the oven to 190C/170C Fan/Gas 5. Put the hazelnuts on a baking tray and cook in the oven for 8 minutes or until golden. Rub off their papery skins with kitchen paper, then chop the nuts roughly and set aside.
2
Quarter and stone the plums and put half in an ovenproof dish or four individual dishes. Mix the demerara sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top, then cover the rest of the plums.
3
Cut the butter into small cubes and put in a large bowl with the flour. Rub the butter in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs (or you can do this in a processor). Stir in the caster sugar and chopped hazelnuts and sprinkle on top of the plums.
4
Bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes or until the topping is golden and crisp and the plums are soft.
