Ingredients

250g pack Asda Diced Casserole Beef

1 tbsp flour, plus extra for rolling

2 tbsp sunflower oil

1 onion, chopped

1 beef stock cube, crumbled

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp Asda Brown Sauce

2 tbsp Asda Tomato Ketchup

175g butternut squash, flesh only, cut into small cubes

500g Jus-Rol Shortcrust Pastry

1 egg, beaten

Method

1
Pre-heat the oven to 150C/130C Fan/Gas 2. Put the beef in a bowl, sprinkle on the flour and season. Toss to coat, then set aside.
2
Heat 1 tbsp of the oil in a large frying pan, add the onion and cook until soft. Transfer to a casserole dish and keep warm in the oven. Heat the remaining oil and cook the beef over a high heat, until just browned on all sides. Add to the onion.
3
Add the stock cube and 175ml water to the pan and heat until simmering. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, brown sauce and ketchup. Pour over the meat, cover and cook in the oven for 1 hour 45 minutes. Add the squash and cook for another 30 minutes, until the meat is tender. Tip into a bowl and leave to cool.
4
While the meat is cooking, flour a work surface and roll out the pastry thinly. Cut out 8 x 10cm rounds and 8 x 11.5cm rounds, re-rolling the pastry as necessary. Cut jack-o'-lantern faces in the smaller rounds. Put the rounds on a plate with a piece of baking paper between each one. Cover with cling film and chill.
5
Turn up the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. Use the larger pastry rounds to line 8 yorkshire pudding tins. Fill with the beef mixture. Brush the edges with egg. Put the pastry lids on top, brush with egg and bake for 20-25 minutes.
