Ingredients

25g butter

495g pack Hovis White Bread Mix

Flour, for rolling out

200g Asda Full Fat Soft and Creamy Cheese

100g walnut pieces, chopped

100g Cheddar, grated

1 medium egg, lightly beaten

Method

1
Rub the butter into the bread mix, then make up as directed on the pack with 300ml warm water. Knead for 10 minutes, then roll out to about 32cm x 38cm.
2
Spread the soft cheese on half the dough, along the long side, then add the nuts and Cheddar. Fold over the other half to cover the filling and roll to press the dough together.
3
Cut into strips about 1.5cm x 16cm. Arrange on two greased baking trays, twisting them several times. Cover with a damp tea towel and leave for an hour or until double in size.
4
Pre-heat the oven to 240C/220C Fan/Gas 7. Brush the twists with beaten egg and bake for 12 minutes. Serve with soup or salad.
