Ingredients

500g pack Asda Ready to Roll Shortcrust Pastry

125g Gruyere cheese

400g leeks (trimmed weight)

25g butter

300g pot Asda Crème Fraîche

2 tbsp milk

3 large free-range eggs

Method

1
Pre-heat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. Roll out the pastry on a floured surface to the thickness of a 1 pound coin. Use to line a 23cm flan tin. Lay a piece of foil inside and add dried rice or pasta. Bake for 10 minutes, remove the foil and bake for 4 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4.
2
Cut the leeks into half cm thick slices. Melt the butter in a pan, add the leeks and stir to coat. Cover and cook over a very low heat for 8 minutes. Uncover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
3
Lightly beat the crème fraîche, milk and eggs. Stir in the leeks and most of the cheese and season well.
4
Pour into the flan case. Sprinkle on the rest of the cheese and bake for 25 minutes or until just set.
