Ingredients

500g Asda Ready to Roll Shortcrust Pastry

Plain flour, for rolling out

400g golden syrup

225g fresh white breadcrumbs

1 small unwaxed lemon, grated zest of

2 tbsp lemon juice

Custard, to serve

Method

1
Pre-heat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a lightly floured surface and use it to line a 23cm flan tin.
2
Mix in the golden syrup with the breadcrumbs, lemon zest and juice until evenly mixed. Put in the flan case and level the top.
3
Cut the remaining pastry into strips and make a lattice on top. Seat the strips to the edges of the pastry case, dampening them with water and then pressing together lightly.
4
Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4 and cook for another 30 minutes.
5
Serve with custard.
